About Anyanwu Blessing:
Tell us about your artistic background and experience. What led you to pursue art as a creative outlet?:
I started drawing since I was a child, art is basically my talent and with time I grew to understand and embrace it. Growing up, there wasn’t much support towards my passion, so I put it to myself to get better at what I’m really enjoy doing. It was a bit of a challenge because I taught myself with a little help here and there from artist friends and online, these helped with learning techniques and how to approach certain tasks, in a nutshell, I would say my passion for art led me to pursue art.
What inspires you as an artist? Are there specific themes or subjects that you find yourself drawn to?:
Emotion is my favorite theme in art, I love interesting details that expresses emotion, they inspire and motivate me most of the time, the ability to express feelings and relay a thought or feeling through Art is what inspires me the most.
What do you hope to communicate or evoke through your art? Is there a specific message or emotion that you strive to convey to your audience?
I strive to relay every single form of message through art, as someone who isn’t so good at communicating, art is one easy way, sometimes you don’t have to explain the piece, it speaks for itself, because to me, art is a visual representation of thought, feelings and emotion.
Are there any particular artists or art movements that have influenced your work? How have they shaped your artistic perspective?
Kelvin Okafor is one of the Artists I admire, he is not only a hyper realistic artist, he captures people on paper with every single detail, he expresses different perception of beauty, his works shows there’s more to detailing and I am getting there.
How do you handle criticism or feedback on your artwork? How do you use it to grow and improve as an artist?
I usually put it out there for people to see and and say what they feel about it, that way, I learn and also get other perspectives to know what others see and not just me, I simply use these feedback to correct or appreciate myself depending on what I wanted to achieve.
Are there any specific goals or aspirations you have for your artistic career? How do you plan to pursue them?
I want to have an art studio and an art gallery in the future, I want to be remembered for what I do and the impact I have made in peoples lives. I believe constant practice, the right audience and exposure to new experiences will help me achieve them
