Tell us about your artistic background and experience. What led you to pursue art as a creative outlet?:
Hi, My name is Emmanuel Okoduwa
I started having passion for art from age 5 when I would draw in class during lectures lol. Ever since then, I veered into drawing fully and took it upon myself to get better by the day. My genuine passion and love for art is what made me marry the craft.
What inspires you as an artist? Are there specific themes or subjects that you find yourself drawn to?:
Humans, humans are the main factor that inspire me to be an even better artist because there’s so much to the circumference of the human look that seems so captivating.
What do you hope to communicate or evoke through your art? Is there a specific message or emotion that you strive to convey to your audience?
Yes, sometimes I get spontaneous with my art but I specifically pass messages of freedom and beauty through my works.
Are there any particular artists or art movements that have influenced your work? How have they shaped your artistic perspective?
Kelvin Okafor, a UK based artits who I’ve followed for a very long time has been a big influence in my art journey. He made me see art in a really different perspective and the patience that comes with it.
How do you handle criticism or feedback on your artwork? How do you use it to grow and improve as an artist?
In all honesty, I do not really bulge when it comes to critics. I mean in my early times as a learner, I used to get a lot of criticism on my works which really motivated me to work even harder to get better.
Are there any specific goals or aspirations you have for your artistic career? How do you plan to pursue them?
I plan to have a well going art gallery and also a foundation that other aspiring artists can tap into. Because art is freedom itself and everyone should be a participant, regardless of status.
