I have been inspired by my mentor, Jacqueline Suowari and other international artists, like Toyin Ojih Odutola, Bisa Butler and Harmonia Rosales
How do you handle criticism or feedback on your artwork? How do you use it to grow and improve as an artist?
Constructive criticism is helpful to my work because it is an opportunity to improve what I do. As an artist, I strive to develop my skills by learning under mentors, working with other creatives and building my self as a brand. I also criticize my own art because I know that it can always get better.
Are there any specific goals or aspirations you have for your artistic career? How do you plan to pursue them?
It is my goal to build a creative space that consist of a gallery, a residential area for artists and short stays, a large studio for artists working, a hall for cultural and creative art events, a board room and paint production facility. I have few mentees under me, and have observed the art community in Nigeria, so I think the creative space will be a bonus for upcoming generations of artists.
